Assignment
for Day 23: Dinner Conversations!
As a child living at home we always had lunch
together, it was our main meal of the day and we were required to be there and
participate with a willing attitude. At times it was difficult especially as we
grew older and everyone schedule threatened to steamroller our intentions, but
it’s also something I think back on with great fondness.
In our own house we now have a dinner time
tradition which I saw on a movie once. We do a version of “high/low” where you
have to share what the high- and lowlight of the day was, everyone has to share
about their day. The highlight usually brings a smile to my face and sometimes
the lowlight breaks my heart, but it’s a gentle reminder from a little girl
that she needs us in her life as her cheerleaders.
So for tonight, during dinner, strike up a
conversation, ask questions and invite honest answers with a willing heart.
Here are some questions to get you started:
Favourite colour?
Favourite place to be in the whole world?
What scares you?
What makes you unhappy?
What makes you happy?
What is your most favourite thing to do?
Favourite animal?
Favourite part of today?
Least favourite part of today?
What do you think we should do this weekend?
Remember that mommy and daddy has to take part in
answering too!
